Antique and stunning A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte pocket watch quarter repeater in 18k / 0.750 yellow gold. The watch has two case backs, two gold inner covers and a wonderful enamel dial with Roman numerals and a small second at 6 o'clock.
The 19-line ALS calibre 43 with diamond endstone can be found under the two back cases. The total weight of this pocket watch is 118.5 grams with a diameter without crown of 49 mm. The movement number of the watch is 279xx, this Lange was sold on the 23 June 1890 to H. Baumeister Magdeburg at a price of 710.60 marks.
The engraving ‘Heinrich Strauß Magdeburg’ can be read on the inside cover, as well as the initials ‘HS’ on the outer case cover. He was in the anti-tank defence division in 1938, the historical documents to him and the watch are both enclosed. An archive extract from the sale of the watch from 1890 is also enclosed.
This ALS pocket watch is in very good condition and runs beautifully, it will also be delivered with the ALS certificate (with the correct movement/casing number 279xx) - historical documents - information from the former owner - Signet ring with initials of the former owner.
